8TH BATTALION VIR SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED BATTALION TRAINING
8th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment has successfully completed the Battalion Training at Air Mobile Training School Bogoda on 29th November 2016. The Training has commenced on 03rd October 2016 and the battalion has trained and practiced the field craft, tactics, map reading, physical training, jungle training, Internal Security duties, firing and also educated on civil and military laws. Junior officers could able to practice their command and control in all scenarios throughout the Battalion training. \r\nMaj gen A Kariyakarawana USP ndc, Colonel of the Regiment VIR attended to witness the successful closing ceremony which have organized by the battalion on the same day. After the warm welcome by Commanding Officer Maj HLC Baztians RWP RSP the Battalion has awarded a Guard turnout to the Major General A Kariyakarawane USP ndc. \r\nColonel of the Regiment addressed the battalion and highlighted the value of the Battalion training to a soldier and then awarding ceremony was held to appreciate best performances. Best Coy, Best Section, Overall Best Soldier, Best Physical Soldier and Best Shooter have been awarded trophies by Col of the Regiment. \r\nCentre Commandant Brig WS Ariyasinghe RSP, Regiment Adjutant also attended the event with the Colonel of the Regiment.\r\n
