Kavesha Kasthuriarachchi, the son of late Major Janaka Kasthuriarachchi (6 VIR) has been selected to represent the Country at the peace building symposium scheduled for children in Pennsylvania - USA. The Project COMMON BOND, the most expansive and fastest growing Children programme, which is designed to unite teens from around the world that have lost their loved ones to terrorism. This Project has featured participants from 18 countries from around the world has been instrumental in developing the leadership qualities and peace building. The a curriculum designed by Harvard University Law School\'s Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Programme as well as a dignity model developed at the Harvard University Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
Wieman Kavesha Kasthuriarachchi is a proud product of Royal College Colombo and has performed well in both Academics and Sports during school days. He has obtained A passes for all subjects at O/L Examination and 3xA passes and 1xB pass for Accounts at his A/L examination in Commerce subjects. He was the Captain of Royal Wushu Team and excelled in many extracurricular activities. He was the Deputy Head Prefect for year 2014- 2015 and presently a first year student in LLB at Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Rathmalana.
Two nominations along with Kavesha Kasthuriarachchi were recommended and forwarded by this Regiment to the board appointed by the Army Headquarters to select representatives of our country at the said symposium Project COMMON BOND. Colonel of the Regiment and all ranks congratulate Kavesha and wish him a brighter future
