FAREWELL TO COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT, MAJOR GENERAL NAJC DIAS
Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 29 December 2015 bade farewell to Colonel of the Regiment, Major General NAJC Dias RWP RSP VSV USP ndc at the end of his military career, with a series of programmes at Regimental Headquarters in Boyagane\r\nThe programme kicked off with Major General NAJC Dias RWP RSP VSV USP ndc paying tribute to the fallen VIR war heroes at VIR War Heroes Monument.\r\nA Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by VIR troops saluted Major General NAJC Dias RWP RSP VSV USP ndc at the Parade Grounds after he was welcomed by Center Commandant Brigadier WS Ariyasinghe RSP. Troop address, all Ranks tea party and an officers’ get-together held at “The Salute” multi functional hall towards the end of the military formalities culminated the ceremony..\r\nAfter the troop address a memento was presented to Major NAJC Dias RWP RSP VSV USP ndc on behalf of the officers and Other Ranks of the VIR.\r\nSenior VIR officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.\r\n\r\n
