The Annual General Meeting (AGM) - 2023 of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 09 September 2023 under the patronage of the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General DMKDB Pussella RWP RSP at The Salute Multifunctional Hall, Boyagane, Kurunegala. The AGM was presided by the Hon. President of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Himali Pussella and was attended by Seva Vanitha Branch Executive Committee and members.
On arrival, the President of VIR Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Himali Pussella was received by the Vice President along with other members of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch at the entrance of the Salute Multifunctional Hall. Then, the event commenced with the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the President of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Himali Pussella together with several other members of the Branch. After reciting Seva Vanitha Anthem, all did not forget to observe in two-minute silence in a sincere moment of gratitude honored in memory of fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives to defend the motherland.
Moreover, the President emphasized the importance of being and working together as a solid team to enhance unity and develop positive attitudes among the members to achieve the desired Seva Vanitha objectives in a meaningful way. As a notable part of the event, valuable gift packs including school bags, gift vouchers and stationary items were donated to 21 school children who were in need and monetary aid to a selected family as a helping hand to uplift their living standard under the concept of Hon. President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Himali Pussella.
After the formal proceedings of the Annual General Meeting of VIR Seva Vanitha Branch, all members, headed by the President of Seva Vanitha Branch posed for a group photograph and participated in a fabulous refreshment arranged by the organizing committee. Later in the evening, an informative lecture on the topic of “Social Etiquette” was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Champika Silva, the Staff Officer 1 - Officer Career Planning Cell and overlooking General Staff Officer 1 (Operation /Training) of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Finally, the day`s events concluded with an entertaining session followed by a well-arranged dinner.
