The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment emerged as Champions of the Novices category and Runners-up of the Open category of the Sri Lanka Army Boxing Championship 2022 which concluded on 20 September 2022 held at Army Gymnasium, Panagoda. Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, the Commander of the Army graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Boxers from various Army regiments tested their boxing skills and competed in the race for championship in the Inter Regiment Boxing Championship. The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Boxing team under the supervision of 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment displayed a splendid performances amidst the roars and applauses of the spectators. Lance Copral Prasanna of 22 VIR emerged as the Best Boxer of the championship.
