In line with Vesak Full Moon Poya day, the troops of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment celebrated the Vesak Festival under the direction of Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army, Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage on 05 May 2023.
Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage graced this blissful occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Vesak Festive Zone formally by lighting up the traditional oil lamp. Meanwhile, the President of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Madam Kumudu Manage, senior officers including regimental council members, officers, their spouses and all other troops attended in this charming event.
In conjunction with the Vesak festival, the displaying of colourful Vesak lanterns, the presentation of Bathi Gee (devotional songs) sung by both school children and military personnel as well as Dansela (free giveaway) are in operation drawing the attention of the public in and around Kurunegala area on 05, 06 and 07 May 2023.
