The orientation training programme for the graduates – Phase I commenced on 14 September 2020 at the Regimental Centre, Boyagane with the participation of 376 graduates belongs to 15 Divisional Secretary areas in Kurunegala District. This programme was announced by the His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Commander of the Army have led the initial commitment to progress the 1st phase with leadership and positive attitude enhancement of the newly recruited government servants. Starting from today, there will be 5 phases to conclude the training of 50,000 graduates who process new appointments.
The training would impart knowledge on social etiquettes, conflict resolution, leadership, parenting, first aid, civil law, Sri Lankan history, current affairs, psychology and counselling by qualified army staff in order to develop knowledge, skills and ethics of those recruited graduates to ensure an effective contribution to super impose government service with dedicated committed staff. In addition, an opportunity would be made available to the graduates to engage in project work and field studies to improve their skills by identifying issues and possible solutions in relevant fields.
This orientation programme - Phase I ceremonially commenced at Regimental Centre - Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment with presence of Brigadier Sisira Herath, Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment as the Chief Guest. Deputy Centre Commandant, Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre and instructor officers, lady instructors/other ranks of the training programme attended for the event.
