THE OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY FOR 2019 SECOND QUARTER WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

According to the direction given by the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment, The Officers’ Training Day for the second quarter of 2019 was successfully conducted with the participation of 174 officers belong to VIR at RHQ VIR on 21 June 2019. Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen D M D C D Gunawardana RWP USP ndc psc was also participated for this training day.

According to the scheduled programme, all officers attended to the morning PT parade and then after attended to the Drill at Parade Ground. After that, a lecture on “Essence of custom and traditions for a resilient regiment” was conducted by Lt Col M N Gunawardana psc IG SLA, GSO I (Academics) of DSCSC at the Archers Cinema.

Another lecture on “The importance of training and a glimpse on overseas training aspect of Sri Lanka Army” was conducted by Lt Col H L C Liyanage RWP RSP psc, GSO I (OVERSEAS) of Directorate of Training at the Archers Cinema after the lunch session.

Programme was concluded with the Diners’ Club session and Professor JB Dissanayake conducted a lecture about “Multi ethnic combination” and an entertainment session was conducted by Mr. Asanga Perera & Nandana Hettiarachchi who is portraying in “Ataka Nataka” TV programme during the session.
