The Officers’ Training Day of the first quarter – 2023 was held at the Regimental Centre the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 17 March 2023 with the participation of 100 officers including several senior officers of the regiment.
According to the scheduled programme, the training day began with the morning physical training session at the Regimental Centre ground followed by drill training at the parade ground of the Regimental Centre. Day’s first lecture was conducted on the topic of “Radicalization, Violent Extremism, Insurgency and Terrorism” by Lieutenant Colonel Champika Silva – General Staff Officer I (Operations / Training) Regimental Centre VIR. The Second lecture was conducted on the topic of “Changing World Order and Security Challenges” by Colonel Sri Rajapaksha – Military Assistant, Sri Lanka Army Headquarters.
On par with the Officers’ Training Day, another successful Diners Club session was held at “The Salute” Multifunctional Hall, Boyagane with the participation of officers serving in various military establishments including officers of VIR Battalions. As the guest speaker of the night, Tourism Consultant in Human Resource Training, Mr. Amal Nanayakkara, conducted a timely important lecture on the topic “The Progressive change in management, from behavior to attitude”. Officers took the opportunity to share their views with the audience and had an interactive session with the guest speaker.
The Director General General Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage, Several regimental council members, Regimental Centre Commandant, senior officers, other officers participated for this event.
