NEWLY PROMOTED FLAG RANK OFFICERS VISIT COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT

Demarcating a qualitative enhancement of the organization and assuring the progressive upliftment of the cadre grading, twenty seven (27) Colonels of the Sri Lanka Army Regular Force conferred to the rank of Brigadier on 16 August 2021 on a directive of His Excellency the President with the concurrence of the Ministry of Defence and General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army. Two (02) Senior Officers belong to Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, namely; Colonel P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP psc, and Colonel H L C Liyanage RWP RSP psc were among those 27 Senior Officers elevated to prestigious rank of Brigadier.

Commander Air Mobile Brigade, Brigadier Subath Sanjeewa visited the Major General S P K A Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP, Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Mullaittivu) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 18 August 2021, had an audience with him at his office at the Security Forces Headquarters (Mullaittivu). Remarking this indelible moment, the Air Mobile Brigade Commander, Brigadier Subath Sanjeewa offered the new book composed on Air Mobile Brigade, “Towards a Dazzling Future: Air Mobile Brigade 2021 - 2026” to the Colonel of the Regiment.

On gesture of appreciation and commendation, Commander 662 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Chaminda Liyanage who was elevated to the rank of Brigadier had the privilege of receiving his new rank insignia from Colonel of the Regiment during an audience had on 17 August 2021. Colonel of the Regiment wished good luck to Brigadier Subath Sanjeewa and Brigadier Chaminda Liyanage on their future endevours.
