Major General RKBS Ketakumbura RSP assumed office as the 18th Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) on 24.09.2019 during a colourful ceremony at the VIR Regimental Headquarters, Boyagane, Kurunegala.
On arrival, the new Colonel of the Regiment was received by the VIR Centre Commandant and was presented a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour followed by a wreath laying to pay tribute to VIR War Heroes Monument and PWV Monument. Then amidst religious observances Major General Rohana Ketakumbura placed his signature in a formal document, symbolizing the assumption of duties
After ceremonial formalities Col of the Regiment attended for the tree sapling to mark the occasion and afterwards he attended for the All Ranks Tea. Eventually he addressed the troops at Archers Cinema.
The Centre Commandant, Senior Officers together with officers and other ranks attended the event.
