NEW STAFF OFFICER 1 (VETERAN AFFAIRS) ASSUMES OFFICE

Lieutenant Colonel P M I M Pathiraja RWP RSP assumed the office as the 4th Staff Officer 1 (Veteran Affairs) of Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 18 January 2024 during a brief ceremony at the VIR Regimental Headquarters, Boyagane, Kurunegala.

Lieutenant Colonel Mahesh Pathiraja was enlisted to Sri Lanka Army Regular Force on 05 July 1999 and followed the basic military training as an Officer Cadet with Intake 50. After completion of training successfully he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 30 June 2001 and posted to the 1th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Formerly Lieutenant Colonel Mahesh Pathiraja was the General Staff Officer 1 (Coordinating) of 1 Corps and has held several significant command, staff and instructional appointments.
