NEW STAFF OFFICER 1 (ADMINISTRATION) ASSUMES OFFICE

Lieutenant Colonel WMMWBHG Pitawala RSP USP assumed the office as the 14th Staff Officer 1 (Administration) of Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 17 January 2024 during a brief ceremony at the VIR Regimental Headquarters, Boyagane, Kurunegala.

Lieutenant Colonel Buddika Pitawala was enlisted to Sri Lanka Army Regular Force on 04 July 1997 and followed the basic military training as an Officer Cadet with Intake 47. After completion of training successfully he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 19 June 1999 and posted to the 8th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Formerly Lieutenant Colonel Buddika Pitawala was the Chief Instructor of Commando Training School Ampara and has held several significant command, staff and instructional appointments.
