NEW DEPUTY CENTRE COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTIES

Colonel D K Aludeniya RWP assumed office as the 6th Deputy Centre Commandant of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) on 12 June 2019 during a brief ceremony at the VIR Regimental Headquarters, Boyagane, Kurunegala. Colonel D K Aludeniya RWP was born on 29 April 1970 and completed his school education from Dharmaraja College, Kandy. He joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet on 09 January 1990 to the Officer Cadet Intake 33. After successful completion of the basic military training, he was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 15 June 1991. He has held many command appointments in unit line such as Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Second in Command and commanded Regimental Headquarter Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Before taking over duties as Deputy Centre Commandant he held numerous senior appointments as SO I (A) at Directorate of Army Dental Services, Commandant of Abhimansala III - Pangolla and Deputy Commandant of Ranaviru Sevana.
