Brigadier WS Ariyasinghe RSP assumed duties as the Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on Thursday (22) during a simple ceremony, held at the RHQ VIR premises, Boyagane.
On arrival, the new Centre Commandant was greeted to a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions.
Amidst religious observances and Pirith chanting, Brigadier WS Ariyasinghe RSP placed his signature in a document, symbolizing the assumption of duties.
After simple formalities, the new Centre Commandant addressed the gathering of officers and ORs there and requested them to continue their good work and help him carry out his duties in an impressive manner.
All Staff Officers of the RHQ VIR attended the ceremony.
