MAJOR GENERAL DEEPAL PUSSELLA ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE 13TH COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT OF MIR

The newly appointed 13th Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP assumed the office on 01 December 2022 during an auspicious ceremony held at the Regimental Centre of Mechanized Infantry Regiment.

The new MIR chief, Major General Deepal Pussella was awarded a guard turnout at the entrance in accordance with military formalities followed by a ceremonial guard of honour. He then formally respected all fallen MIR War Heroes, while laying a floral wreath at the War Heroes Monument. Amidst the blessing of the noble Triple-Gem, the new Colonel of the Regiment of MIR signed an official document, signifying the acceptance of the new appointment.

Leaving an indelible gesture, Major General Deepal Pussella planted a tree sapling at the regimental premises and afterwards posed for a group photograph. Events of the day came to a conclusion with an all rank lunch followed with a troop address by the new Colonel of the Regiment.

Major General Deepal Pussella has served a number of other senior key appointments in the capacities of operational, administrative and staff across the country since his enlistment to the Army in 1987.
