On par with 33rd Regimental Day celebration, offering of delicious lunch for inmates of Mallawapitiya Elders’ Home and Maliyadewa Boys’ Home was organized by the officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 16 and 17 March 2023.
46 adults at the Mallawapitiya Elders’ Home and 22 children at the Maliyadewa Boys’ Home enjoyed lunch and interacted with the troops while exchanging their good old memories. Some elders emotionally expressed their views and memories with the staff and emphasized that they were treated like their own children. Moreover, stationaries and school uniform clothes were gifted to the children at Maliyadewa Boys’ Home which they gratefully accepted.
Staff Officer I (Veterans Affairs), Lt Col Darshana Withanage including several senior officers, officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre participated in this meritorious event.
