Inter Battalion Tug of War Tournament 2020 Finals organized by 10 (V) VIR ceremonially commenced with the blessings of Colonel of the Regiment VIR, Brigadier Sisira Pilapitiya, on 15 September 2020 at Regimental Centre sport complex with the gracious presence of Deputy Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Colonel Dhananjaya Aludeniya. 13 teams under 560 kg weight category and 11 teams under 640 kg weight category from 17 battalions competed for supremacy on 14 and 15 September 2020.
Members of 17 teams with their supporting staff, Regimental Sergeant Major and all regimental staffing ORs joined in cheering and encouraging the finalists.
Tug of War is a game unique to showcase strength of the soldiers and comradeship of the members of the respective units. In that, 1 VIR rope pullers emerged as the Champions while 23 VIR secured the Runners-Up and Second Runner-Up was 18 VIR in the 560 kg weight category.
In the 640 kg weight category, 23 VIR rope pullers emerged as the Champions while 1 VIR secured the Runners-Up. The Second Runner-Up slot was 7 VIR.
