Construction of a new cafeteria, a much needed facility at the Archers Cricket Ground and the Indoor Stadium was initiated by the Headquarter Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the directions of the Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage on 18 February 2023.
The brief ceremony was held by giving prominence to the Buddhist traditions and the laying of the foundation stone was done by Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage amidst chanting of pirith.
Overlooking Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, regimental staff, Commanding Officer Headquarter Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, several officers and Other Ranks also participated the ceremony.
