A felicitation ceremony was held to honour the Major General P M R H S K Herath RWP RSP, former Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment who was promoted to the rank of Major General on 3 February 2021 dating back to 28 January 2021 who is to be retired on 4 February 2021. To recognize his promotion, a quick impact event was organized on 03 February 2021 at Regimental Centre premises, Boyagane with the blessings and participation of the Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S P K A Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment.
Featuring the traditional event, Major General Sisira Herath reviewed the Guard Turnout accorded by the Regiment and then offered floral tribute to the fallen war heroes who made supreme sacrifice in the name of our motherland. All Officers present were posed for a photograph with the day’s protagonist and afterwards, event textured with awarding of a special memento by the Colonel of the Regiment to the Major General Sisira Herath in appreciation of his dedicated, committed service to become a Two Star General for Archers Flag Officers family.
Further, he was offered with Staff Lunch at Regimental Officers’ Mess on the same day, surprise birthday party had been arranged following day at “The Salute” multifunctional hall from the Col of the Regiment and All Officers.
Colonel of the Regiment and All Ranks had wish Major General Sisira Herath a blissful retirement life.
