FAMILIES OF THE OFFICERS OF VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY REGIMENT ENJOYED THRILLING EXPERIENCES IN ATTENDING A WHALES WATCHING TOUR AT MIRISSA.
On the request of the Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment whales watching tour was arranged for the families of the officers of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment by the Sri Lanka Navy Base – Galle. Approximately 200 numbers of the family members of 60 officers enjoyed thrilling experiences of whales and hundreds of dolphins off Mirissa. Commander SF (WEST) and his family also shared joy by joining this exciting sea tour with the officers of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
After a delighted experience of watching giants in the sea, officers and their families enjoyed the lunch arranged at the Officers Mess of 16 (V) Battalion the Gamunu Watch located within the premises of the historic Gall Dutch Port.
The cost of the air condition buses provided from the Regimental Centre, from Kadawatha Highway Entrance and Kottawa and Highway Entrance was borne by the Regimental Seva Vanitha Branch while whales watching tour was arranged by the Sri Lanka Navy, free of charge. Breakfast was served on board and the hospitality of the OIC and the crew of the naval ship Princess of Lanka were way above expectation
