COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT RECEIVED FELICITATION GUARD OF HONOUR

Following its’ traditions and military formalities, Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre bids a felicitation ceremony to Director General General Staff, Commander Army Training Command and the Colonel of the Regiment VIR, Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc in a fitting ceremony, held at the VIR Regimental Centre at Boyagane, Kurunegala, giving pride of place to military formalities by adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak on 14 January 2022.

Upon Colonel of the Regiment’s arrival at the VIR Regimental Centre, Brigadier Prabath Kodithuwakku, the Centre Commandant of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment warmly received at the main entrance with a Guard Turnout, in accordance with military formalities. Then giving pride of place to the memory of all fallen Vijayabahu War Heroes, Major General Nishantha Mange, laid the floral wreaths at the War Heroes Monument and PWV Monument paid his tribute in a solemn ceremony.

A few seconds later, the Parade Commander invited the day's protagonist to review the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour and receive the salute. After a while, he posed for a group photograph with the Officers. As the final showdown of his felicitation ceremony, he was accompanied for the tea party arranged at the Mens’ Club.

Regimental Council Members, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers and Regimental Staff attended for these series of events.
