CIMIC ACTIVITY ORGANIZED BY 4 VIR

Troops of 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under the 523 Brigade Headquarters organized a programme of distributing dry rations among the low income families of village Magalankerni in KOVILAKKANDI GN Division (J/301) who suffered due to the recent flood situation and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on 28 November 2020. The programme was conducted under the patronage of the Commander 52 Infantry Division, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage at the premises of 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Allarai, Chavakachcheri.

CIMIC is the relationship of interaction, cooperation and coordination at all levels between military forces and civil community which are necessary to achieve an effective response in the reconciliation process. It has been an effective instrument to the Government Endeavour to cultivate national harmony through uplifting the physical quality of life and hearts and minds of the people.

The Commander 523 Brigade, Colonel Rohan Rajapaksha, Commanding officer of the 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major Shelton Gallage and Officers and Other Ranks were present at the scene.
