7TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 22 VIR ASSUMES DUTIES

as the 7th Commanding Officer of 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 03 March 2023. A brief ceremony was held which included religious observances, planting of a tree sapling and a troop address.

Lieutenant Colonel AMP Amarasinghe RWP RSP USP psc has joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet of General Sir John Kotalawala Defence University to the Intake 17 on 08 August 1999. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 08 August 2001 and was posted to the 1st Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, staff and instructor appointments and performed effectively, serving in almost all operational areas, various headquarters and training establishments.

All officers and Other Ranks of the 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer.
