20TH COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT – VIR CELEBRATES THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF FIRST YEAR TENURE

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Celebrated the first year anniversary of Major General Nishantha Manage as the Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, during a charm, but colorful series of events at the Regimental Centre on 05 November 2022.

The events of the day unfolded when the 20th Colonel of the Regiment of VIR Major General Nishantha Manage was received by the Centre Commandant and other staff officers at the temple premises where the Col of the Regiment engaged in religious activities and obtained the blessings of the Noble Triple Gem, followed by a troop address at the Archers Indoor Stadium where troops of the Regimental Centre as well as troops from all the battalions joined through a virtual meeting.

The Colonel of the Regiment began the address by observing two minutes silence to remember the fallen war heroes. He then revived the past one year of tremendous service rendered to the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and emphasized the importance of carrying forward the good work inaugurated by him and the need to work hard towards the betterment of the regiment. He also did not forget to appreciate and thank everyone for the support rendered during the tenure. Events of the day came to an end with an eye catching tea party organized at the men’s club, where all the officers and the Other Ranks of the regiment participated.
