Major RMR Ranaweera RWP assumed duties as the 12th Commanding Officer of 3rd (V) Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 06 March 2023. A brief ceremony was held which included religious observances, planting of a tree sapling, a troop address and an All-Rank tea.
Major RMR Ranaweera RWP has joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet of Sri Lanka Military Academy to the Intake SC 10 on 23 February 2001. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 22 June 2002 and was posted to the 8th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, staff and instructor appointments and performed effectively, serving in almost all operational areas, various headquarters and training establishments.
All officers and Other Ranks of the 3rd (V) Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer.
