11 Vir won the Inter Battalion Basketball Championship 2016
Inter Battalion Basketball Championship finals was held at Indoor Basketball court Regimental Centre Boyagane on 08th September 2016. Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen KC Gunawarane RWP RSP USP Grace the event as the chief guest. 8th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment organized the event in very colorful manner and all who were came there to witness the event appreciated the good effort taken by the Commanding officer and the organizing committee.
8th Battalion given a massive fight to retain the trophy at kurunegala, but team came from Colombo has taken it back to where it was 5 years before. 11th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment won the Inter Battalion Basket ball Championship for year 2016 and 8th Battalion won the Runnersup. B player Pte Jayalath JPUK represented 11 VIR won the Best Player of the year.
Center Commandant Brigadier WS Ariyasingehe , Many Senior officers and Regimental Staff were present during the sessions.
