09TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 18 VIR ASSUMES DUTIES

Major WSR Senarathna RWP RSP assumed duties as the 09th Commanding Officer of 18th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 03rd September 2024. A brief ceremony was held which included religious observances, planting of a tree sapling and a troop address.

Major WSR Senarathna RWP RSP has joined the Sri Lanka Army as an officer cadet of Sri Lanka Military Academy to the Regular Intake SC 10 on 11th Januaray 2001. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 29th December 2001 and was posted to the 6th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, staff and instructor and performed effectively, serving almost all operational areas, various headquarters and training establishments.

All officers and Other Rankers of the 18th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer.
