08TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 22 VIR ASSUMES DUTIES

Major VKSI Thalpavila RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 8th Commanding Officer of 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 04th September 2024. A brief ceremony was held which included religious observances, planting of a tree sapling and a troop address. .

Major VKSI Thalpavila RSP USP psc has joined the Sri Lanka Army as an officer cadet of Sri Lanka Military Academy to the Regular Intake short course 12 on 10th January 2004. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 25th June 2005 and was posted to The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. .

During his illustrious military career he rendered his service in various command, staff and instructor and performed effectively, serving almost all operational areas, various headquarters and training establishments. .

All officers and Other Rankers of the 22nd Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer. .
