Commanding Officer with Div and Bde Commanders during the 'Humanitarian Operation'
With the end of the 'Humanitarian Operation', headquarter of the Battalion was shifted to Mullaitivu.
In the entire 24 year period of the existence of the Battalion it has lost (killed) in combat, 2 officers and 120 other rankers with another 4 officers and 55 other rankers receiving injuries.
On 4th June 2012 Lieutenant Colonel SMS Samarakoon was appointed as the Commanding Officer.
The Battalion Headquarters was shifted to the Andamkulam Forest Reserve.
On 6th February 2014 Major WKAS Priyanthalal RSP was appointed as the Commanding Officer.
