The Training Day that entails physical training along with incorporating training events and recreational activities was successfully concluded under the instructions of Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc - the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 5 June 2025 at the Headquarters SLAVF.
The programme of the day precisely focused on creating an opportunity for the officers to enhance their skills and knowledge. In the expected context concerned, particular scholarly sessions were dedicated for the officers.
A formal presentation session touched by pertinent thematic focuses was unfolded by the officers and the presenters were evaluated by a panel of judges highlighting strengths and limitations.
Furthering a yet core objective of the training day, a Diners’ Club Interaction: a designated platform for professional enhancement that fosters intellectual insight and shared learning in a relaxed and respectful environment was conducted.The occasion was enriched by the scholarly insights of Dr. Asantha Senevirathna, a Senior Lecturer at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, whose honorary presence illuminated the discussion on the global power politics. He delivered a compelling lecture on the topic: “The War between Indo -Pakistan, Israel - Palatine, and Ukraine-Russia and Its Implications on Sri Lanka”.
The programme was closely supervised by Major General B M R J Bandara - the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF.The day’s itineraries were successfully administered by Colonel T S B R Fernando - Colonel Training SLAVF under the directions of Brigadier B J Lekamge RSP KSP - Inspector of Training, SLAVF.The event was attended by Major General AMC Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc - the Principal Staff Officer, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters, SLAVF along with invited senior officers represented outer military establishments.
