THE VOLUNTEER FORCE SALUTES THE RETIRING SENIOR OFFICERS

In honour of active contribution to the Sri Lanka Army and this motherland, retiring senior officers who are outstanding military officers, were felicitated at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 06 June 2025 upon their retirement.

The senior officers honored at the occasion included Brigadier S K M M N K Mahanthe KSP and Brigadier W T M P S Bandara and Colonel M A Lakshman RSP

Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), presided over the occasion warmly welcomed the retiring senior officers and recognized their unwavering commitment, exemplary service, and significant contributions during their distinguished careers, encompassing both wartime and post-war periods.

The Commandant SLAVF awarded the outgoing Senior Officers special mementos for their commendable service to the Sri Lanka Army.

These senior officers have been pillars of strength and leadership within the Sri Lanka Army, contributing immensely to its operational success and institutional growth. Their dedication, professionalism, and integrity have been vital in shaping the Army's achievements, while their leadership has inspired camaraderie and unity among their peers.

The Sri Lanka Army owes a debt of gratitude to the Senior Officers for their unwavering loyalty and exemplary service. They retired from the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, proudly completing their excursion of duties in uniform for the beloved motherland.

The event was attended by Major General B M R J Bandara – the Deputy Commandant, Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndu – the Principal Staff Officer, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters SLAVF. The gathering extended their best wishes for the retiring officers’ health, prosperity, and a fulfilling post-retirement life.
