THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT SLAVF VISITS TO THE SLAVFTS

Major General W G P Sisira Kumara RSP- the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School; the utmost training school of the Volunteer Force on 5 ^th October 2024.

The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Col J A J Jayaratne KSP, the Commandant - SLAVFTS on his arrival and then accorded an elegant guard turnout.

During the visit, the Senior officer planted a sapling at the premises and posed for group photographs with the troops to mark the special occasion. Later on, a comprehensive briefing on the achievement and the necessities of the SLAVFTS wasdelivered by the Commandant SLAVFTS.

Following the briefing, the Deputy Commandant SLAVF addressed the troops. While addressing he stated that the SLAVFTS is being gradually reached the required standard and as a consequence, the SLAVFTS was categorized as “excellent” during the past training audit. He extended his gratitude for all the staff who contributed their cooperation to uplift the standard of training of volunteer members.

Following the troop address, he visited the training school premises and then joined the All-Ranks tea, engaging with the troops.
