CORNERSTONE LAYING CEREMONY FOR THE OFFICERS’ ACCOMMODATIONS

Adding a necessary utilitarian function to the infrastructure facilities in the Headquarters, Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu , the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) laid the foundation stone for the construction of accommodations of officers on 06 September 2024 at the Headquarters SLAVF.

Following the religious rituals, the Commandant, SLAVF who accompanied by the senior officers and officers cut the maiden lump of soil amidst chanting of “Seth Pirith” at the auspicious time in the proposed arena.

Taking the shape of a three story accommodation consists of 24 living rooms that measures a mere2835 square feet of ground floor for the strength of serving officers, is scheduled for completion in the fall of coming months with the man power assistance of 6 Engineer Services Regiment.

The construction process will be carried out under the close supervision of Major General W G P Sisira Kumara RSP, the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF.

The occasion was attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters, SLAVF.
