BRIGADIER JMTNB KARUNATHILAKA TAKES OVER DUTIES AS THE INSPECTOR OF TRAINING OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Brigadier JMTNB Karunathilaka assumed the office of the Inspector of Training of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force with effect from 31 July 2024.

Prior to the present assuming of duties in the appointment, the senior officer served as the Brigadier Coordinating Officer at the Security Forces Headquarters (East).

During a simple ceremony, the senior officer placed his signature symbolically in a formal document to signify the acceptance of his new office amidst complimentary notes of the officers gathered and religious rites and observances invoked blessings on the new appointment at his new office.

The senior officer groomed by the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment has counted above 34 years of military service. He is a battle hardened officer who has been performing duties under key appointments of command, staff and instructional to the best interest of the establishment during the counter insurgency operations and post war era.

In appreciation of the service to the Sri Lanka Army, the senior officer has been conferred with service medals. The occasion was attended by senior officers and officers of the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.
