ADMINISTRATIVE INSPECTION AT SFHQ-WANN

The administrative inspection of Volunteer Battalions established in the country are carried out by the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force as a part of annual schedule in order to ensure a sound administrative mechanism in the respective battalions and streamline the overall mechanism conforming to the Sri Lanka Army.

The Deputy Commandant SLAVF, Major General W G P Sisira Kumara RSP made his administrative visit to the deployments under the Security Forces Headquarters- Wanni on 18th and 19th of July 2023 following the assumption of duties as the Deputy Commandant on the directions of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu .

On 18th July, the administrative inspection was carried out for 14 (Volunteer) Battalion of the Gemunu Watch, 2 (Volunteer) and 12 (Volunteer)Battalions of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 5(Volunteer) Mechanized Infantry Regiment, 2(Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard .

Further, the Deputy Commandant SLAVF arrived to5(Volunteer) Gajaba Regiment and began with reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded in his honour by the troops of the 5 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gajaba Regiment, Horowpathna.After wards, Deputy Commandant planted a sapling to signify his arrival to the 5(V) GR and visited the camp premises. .

In the evening, as the day’s conclusion, the Deputy Commandant SLAVF presided the debriefing of day 01 of the administrative inspection together with all officers and staff of the respective battalions at Auditorium, SFHQ-Wanni. .

On 19th July, the second day of the administrative inspection continued in 7(Volunteer) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, 5(Volunteer) Gajaba Regiment, 9(Volunteer) Corps of Engineer Services, 4 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock,4 and 5 Sri Lanka National Guard .

The formal inspection proceedings at Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) AOR were concluded with Deputy Commandant’s address to the respective troops while emphasizing procedural action taken in developing the Battalions and extended his sincere thanks for the everyone who assisted to success the inspection
