ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT ON THE OCCASION OF THE WELFARE DONATION DRIVE

In realizing a successful phase of the welfare drive of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, 100 dry ration packets were donated under the patronage of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, the president of the Army SevaVanitha Unit (ASVU) on 12 March 2024 at the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.

Mrs Janaki Liyanage, serves as the president of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and the Chairperson of Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard Seva Vanitha Units with the assuming the office of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage as the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.

The event was unfolded with few phases of dry ration donations with the participation of distinguished invitees, and the occasion was decorated with the colorful cultural items performed by Directorate of Army Band and Performing Arts.

The occasion was attended by Major General MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu - Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and his lady Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena, Major General Thusitha Silva KSP- Deputy Commandant and his lady Mrs. Nelum De Silva, Brigadier Mahen Salwatura RWP RSP USP - Principal Staff Officer, invitees of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.

In honour of her selfless concern and the altruistic heart that constantly stand and await to hear the voice and touch the palpitation of the service members of the Sri Lanka Army, Mrs Janaki Liyanage was awarded with a memorabilia as a token of good will.
