“UDARAI OBA” PROGRAMME MOTIVATES SOLDIERS’ ROLES AT SLAVF

With the intention of inspiring spiritual,mental and optimistic attitudes of the army personnel, "Udarai Oba" programme, sponsored by Arya Foundation, was held on 19^th January 2024 at the "Rendezvous Pavilion" at HQ SLAVF on a notable concept of Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

At the arrival to the camp premises, the members of the Arya Foundation was received by Colonel T A B R Fernando, Colonel Training of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid their tribute by laying wreaths on the memorial of late Captain Saliya Aladeniya PWV in the gesture of cherished memories of fallen war heroes who sacrificed their innumerable lives in order to safeguard the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

Afterwards, the Guests of Arya Foundation accompanied to pavilion by a customary procession of cultural dancers and warmly welcomed by Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant and Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. After a while all the senior officers and members of Arya Foundation posed for a group photograph.

Following lighting of oil lamp as a tradition, a two- minute silence was then observed in remembrance of the fallen war heroes and others who sacrificed their invaluable lives on behalf of the motherland.

An eminent journalist, author and a documentary film director Mr. Charith Kiriella who is the President of Arya Foundation , Senior Lawyer Mr. Sanjaya Ranathunga ,Yoga Master Asela Gunarathana, Ms. Pushpa Ramyani De Soysa who descends from the Nightingale's generation,a renowned actor in Sri Lankan cinema, Mr. Bandu Samarasingha and laureate artist Mr. Kumara Thirimadura who won the best actor award at Kazan International Film Awards were delivered the lectures in an impressive and attractive manner on the topics relevant to appreciate soldiers’ roles as defenders of the nation.

Moreover, veteran musicians Mr. Jagath Wickramasinghe, Mr. Indrajith Dolamulla, Singer Ms. Hithmi Pankaja, and renowned actor Mr. Chami Senananayaka added honour and pride by singing patriotic songs to motivate the gathering.

Mrs. Sunethra Senevirathna, the National Organizer of Arya Foundation, made the closing remarks extending her heartfelt thanks for the entire group who contributed in their artistic streams, and paid her sincere gratitude for the Commandant and the organizing committee of the Volunteer Force.

Marking the day, the Arya Foundation donated books worth of Rs. 50 000.00 written on war history for the Volunteer Force. The Commandant paid his tribute of thank for the crew of respected artists who joined the occasion and awarded them with some memorabilia for their generous presence on the day.

The occasion was attended by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP- Deputy Commandant, Brigadier Mahen Salwatura RWP RSP USP - Principal Staff Officer, Brigadier W G P Sisira Kumara RSP- Inspector of Training, Colonel T S B R Fernando - Colonel Training, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

රණවිරු අභිමානය, ධනාත්මක චින්තනය හා අධ්‍යාත්මික ප්‍රගමනය උදෙසා ආර් ය පදනම මගින් සංවිධානය කළ උදාරයි ඔබ වැඩසටහන 2024 ජනවාරි මස 19 වන දින ස්වේච්ඡා බළසේනා මුලස්ථාන කදවුරු පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්විණි. මෙම වැඩසටහන ශ්‍රි ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් එම් කේ ජයවර්ධන RSP VSV USP ndu ගේ සංකල්පයක් මත නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් තුසිත සිල්වා KSP ගේ අධීක්‍ෂණය යටතේ ස්වේච්ඡා බළසේනාවේ දායකත්වය මත පවත්වන ලදි.

ආර් ය පදනමේ සභාපති චරිත් කිරිඇල්ල මහතා ඇතුළු සියලුම සාමාජිකයින් ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා කර්නල් පුහුණු කර්නල් රජිව් ප්‍රනාන්දු විසින් පිළිගත් අතර සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් විසින් ප්‍රථම වරට පරම වීර විභූෂණයෙන් පිදුම් ලැබූ නිලධාරී වූ කපිතන් සාලිය අලදෙනිය පීඩබ්ලිව්වී ගේ අනුස්මරණ ස්මාරකය වෙත මල්කලඹ තැන්පත් කරමින් ඔහු ඇතුළු මාතෘ භූමිය වෙනුවෙන් ජීවිත පුජා කළ සියලූම රණවිරුවන් වෙත සිය උපහාරය පුද කරන ලදි. යුද හමුදා නර්තන කණ්ඩායම විසින් පිළිගැනීමේ නර්තනයකින් සියලූ දෙනා රෙන්ඩෝවර්ස ක්‍රිඩා ප්‍රේක්‍ෂකාගාරය වෙත කැදවා ගෙන යාමෙන් පසු සමුහ ඡායරූපකටද පෙනී සිටින ලදි. මේ අවස්ථාව සදහා ශ්‍රි ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් එම් කේ ජයවර්ධන RSP VSV USP ndu, නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් තුසිත සිල්වා KSP ඇතුළු ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ හා කනිෂ්ඨ නිලධාරින්, නිලධාරීණියන් ඇතුළු සෙසුනිල සාමාජිකයින් පිරිසක්ද සහභාගී වුහ.

වැඩසටහනට ආලෝකමත් ආරම්භයක් ලබාදෙමින් චිරාගත සම්ප්‍රදායානුකූල පොල්තෙල් පහන දල්වා මාතෘ භූමිය වෙනුවෙන් තම ජීවිතය පුජා කළ විරෝදාර රණවිරුවන් සිහිපත් කරමින් සියලූ දෙනා විනාඩි දෙකක නිශ්ශබ්දතාවකින් ගෞරවය පුදකරන ලදි.

පැමිණි සිටි සියලූ දෙනා පිළිගැනීම කර්නල් රජිව් ප්‍රනාන්දු විසින් සිදුකළ අතර, ආරම්භක දේශනය ආර් ය පදනමේ සභාපති ජනමාධ්‍යවේදී, වාර්තා චිත්‍රපට අධ්‍යක්‍ෂක හා ග්‍රන්ථ රචක චරිත් කිරිඇල්ල මහතා විසින් පැවැත් වූ අතර, නීතීඥ සංජය රණතුංග, යෝගී අසේල ගුණරත්න, හෙද නිලධාරිණී පුෂ්පා රම්‍යාණි ද සොයිසා, සිංහල සිනමාවේ ජනප්‍රිය නළු බන්දු සමරසිංහ, ජනප්‍රිය නළු කුමාර තිරිමාදුර යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් විසින් රණවිරුවන් අගයමින් දේශන පවත්වන ලදි. එසේම සංගීතඥ විශාරද ජගත් වික්‍රමසිංහ, ගායන ශිල්පී ඉන්ද්‍රජිත් දොලමුල්ල, හිත්මි පන්කජා, ජනප්‍රිය නළු චාමි සේනානායක යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් විසින් උදාරයි ඔබ වැඩසටහන ගීත ගායනයෙන් වරණවත් කරන ලදි.

ආර් ය පදනමේ ජාතික සංවිධායිකා සුනේත්‍රා සෙනෙවිරත්න මහත්මිය විසින් සිය ස්තූති කතාව තුළින් මෙම වැඩසටහන සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට දායකත්වය සැපයු ශ්‍රි ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක, නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක ඇතුළු සියලූ දෙනා වෙත සිය කෘතවේදීත්වය පළකරන ලදි.

එසේම ස්වේච්ඡා බළසේනාව වෙත ආර් ය පදනම මගින් යුද සාහිත්යමය පිළිබද ලියවුණු රු 50,000.00ක් පමණ වටිනා ග්‍රන්ථ පරිත්‍යාගයක්ද සිදුකරන ලදි. මෙහිදී ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක විසින් සමස්ත වැඩසටහනේ දේශකයන්, ගායකයන් ඇතුළු ආර් ය පදනමට කෘතවේදීත්වය පිරිනමන ලදි.

මෙම අවස්ථාව සදහා ස්වේච්ඡා බළසේනා නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් තුසිත සිල්වා KSP, මුලික මාණ්ඩලික නිලධාරි බ්‍රිගේඩියර් මහේන් සල්වතුර RWP RSP USP, පුහුණු පරීක්‍ෂක බ්‍රිගේඩියර් ඩබ්ලිව් ජි පී සිසිර කුමාර RSP, කර්නල් පුහුණු කර්නල් ටී එස් බී ආර් ප්‍රනාන්දු ඇතුළු ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ හා කනිෂ්ඨ නිලධාරී, නිලධාරිණීන් මෙන්ම සෙසුනිල සාමාජිකයින් පිරිසක්ද සහභාගී වූහ.
