Development of the professionalism of Army personnel, rapidly becoming a much-needed for the career progression of the Officers at present since the Army is moving towards professionalism. With the intention of fulfilling this necessity, the second phase of presentation programme was implemented to set the platform for enhancing the knowledge of volunteer Officers in numerous fields under the directives of Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc and the close observation of Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF.
Keeping up the battalion presentation programme,Officers of the 19 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka National Guard conducted their unit presentation in the presence of the Commandant, SLAVF at the Multifunctional Hall, SLAVF on 15 November 2023.
In commencing the day’s agenda, Colonel T A B R Fernando, Colonel Training of the SLAVF warmly welcomed Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and all Senior Officers and Officers witnessed the event and presentation team of 19 (Volunteer) SLNG.
The presentation team, which led by Major P S Ruwan Perera , the Commanding Officer (19 (Volunteer) SLNG), together with Major RH Jayasinghe, Major HAKP Palipanapsc, Captain DGKS Deniyegedara and Captain MPPU Muthunayake of 19 (Volunteer) SLNG, touched the topic of ‘Development of Solar Energy as a Solution for Energy Crisis in Sri Lanka’.
The presentation culminated with the question and answer session where the audience was able to clarify their doubts pertaining to the subject matter from the presenters in the group.
At the end of the presentation, the Commandant SLAVF commended their efforts taken towards the presentation and further emphasized conducting of presentation sessions is of paramount platform to enhance presentation skills, confidence and professionalism of the Army. A total of sixty seven Officers, presently serving at Headquarters SLAVF witnessed the presentation and Officers serving at Volunteer battalions and establishments enlightenedthe topic via Zoom technology.
