SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE PAYS HONOURS TO COLONEL G P H CHANDRARATNE

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force(SLAVF) paid its tribute of appreciation for Colonel G P H Chandraratne who is a distinguished military officer in the Sri Lanka Army upon his retirement on 20 October 2023 at the Headquarters premises. The Senior Officer served as the Colonel Engineer from 6 June 2022 to 4 October 2023 shouldering assigned responsibilities, and he accomplished precise high profile constructions of the Headquarters SLAVF during his tenure.

In appreciation of the service rendered by Colonel G P H Chandraratne, the Senior Officer was awarded with a special memento and a certificate of appreciation by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP- Deputy Commandant SLAVF on behalf of Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcdspsc- Commandant SLAVF. The Deputy Commandant extremely praised his professional undertakings which contributed in carrying out the desired infrastructure facilities of the Headquarters premises smoothly.

Colonel G P H Chandraratneenlisted in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 02 August 1989 with the Volunteer Intake 11. Upon commissioning in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 30 April 1990, he was posted to the 4 (Volunteer) Corps of Engineer Services.

The Senior Officer was promoted to the rank of Colonel with effect from 11 May 2022, and he will retire after an exceptional service to the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 23 October 2023. He is an exemplary personality who possesses with obligations and accountability to the expectations of the organization.

The Deputy Commandant and the gathering of officers conveyed their best regards on his retirement and wished for every success in his future endeavors.
