SENIOR NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF SLAVF ACQUIRE GREATER EXPOSURE DURING DINERS’ CLUB

A thoughtful professional discussion destination of military, 'Diners' Club' took place at Rendevous Pavilion on 18 July 2023 for the Regimental Sergeant Majors of the volunteer battalions and Senior Non Commissioned Officers of HQ SLAVF on the concept of Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the close supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, Deputy Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Following a warm reception of the day’s lecturer by the Commandant SLAVF as the Guest of Honour of the event, Warrant Officer 1, Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Warrant Officer 1 L V S S Wijesundara, delivered introductory remarks of the guest lecturer to the audience who was awaiting the Guest Speaker’s words of wisdom.

The diners’ club was coloured by the eminent person, Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya who is prominent and first PhD holder in news journalism in Sri Lanka. Further, he has held numerous key appointments such as media spokesman to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counselor (Information) Sri Lanka High Commissioner in Malaysia, Director General of Sri Lanka Press Institute and Director General of Department of Information.

The audience was enlightened on thematic presentation on Resolving the Problems Pertaining to Military Life, Positive Thoughts and Plans for Addressing the Contemporary Economic Challenges in the Country.

At the end of the lecture, attendees had the opportunity of interacting with the guest speaker by way of questions and clarifications during the question and answer session. Subsequently, a vote of thanks raised by Warrant Officer 1 H M U C Hewanayaka and it set for an occasion to express audience gratitude to the Guest Speaker by awarding a memento amidst military applause.

The diners’ club was attended by Principal Staff Officer, Inspector of Training, Brigadier Administration, Senior Officers, Senior Non Commissioned Officers presently serving at SLAVF and invited Non Commissioned Officers from various establishments of the Sri Lanka Army.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා ස්වේච්ජා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් එස් යූ එම් එන් මානගේ WWV RWP RSP psc ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිළධාරීගේ සංකල්පයකට අනුව හා නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් තුසිත සිල්වා KSP ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීගේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කොමිෂන් නොලත් නිලධාරීන් වෙනුවෙන් සංවිධානය කල Diners’ Club වැඩසටහනට සහභාගී වු සියලුම දෙනාට විශේෂ අත්දැකිමක් ලබාදෙමින් ජුලි මස 18 වන දින ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනා මුලස්ථාන කඳවුරේදි සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදි.

Diners’ Club වැඩසටහන 1947 වර්ෂයේදි ජර්මනියේ ෆ්රැන්ක්ෆර්ටි හි හමුදා නිලධාරින් පිරිසක් විසින් ප්‍රථමයෙන් සංවිධානය කර ඇත. එහි අරමුණ වී ඇත්තේ නිවසින් බැහැරවී රාජකාරි කරන හමුදා සොල්දාදුවන්ට රසවත් භෝජන සංග්‍රහයක් බුක්ති විදිමින් වෘත්තිමය හෝ සමාජමය වශයෙන් වැදගත්වන කථාබහකට සවන් දෙමින් විනෝදාත්මක හෝරා කිහිපයක් ගත කිරිමට අවස්ථාව උදා කිරිමයි. එම සම්ප්‍රදායට අනුව ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනා ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කොමිෂන් නොලත් නිලධාරින් වෙනුවෙන් මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කරන ලදි. එහිදි ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනා සැරයන් මේජර් විසින් ආරාධිත දේශක ආචාර්ය රංග කලන්සුරිය සහ ස්වේච්ඡා බළසේනා සේනාවිධායක උණුසුම්ව පිළිගත් අතර, ආරාධිත දේශකයාණන් වැඩසටහනට සහභාගි වී සිටින පිරිස වෙත හදුන්වාදිම, මුලස්ථාන බළලත් නිලධාරි 1 එල් වි එස් එස් විජේසුන්දර විසින් සිදුකරන ලදි.

“යුද හමුදා ජිවිතය සාර්ථක කරගැනිම සඳහා බලපාන ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කර ගැනිම, ධනාත්මක චින්තනය හා වත්මන් ආර්ථික අර්බුදයෙන් මිදිමට සැලසුම්” යන මාතෘකාව යටතේ සිය දේශණය ආචාර්ය රංග කලන්සුරිය මහතා විසින් ඉතා හරවත් ලෙස පවත්වන ලදි. සදාචාරාත්මක ප්‍රවෘත්ති වාර්ථාකරණය පිළිබඳව ආචාර්ය උපාධිය හිමිකරගෙන ඇති කලන්සුරිය මහතා අන්තර් ජාතික මාධ්‍ය සහයෝගිතාව වෙනුවෙන් ආසියාවේ කලාපිය උපදේශක ලෙස කටයුතු කරයි. එසේම විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්‍යංශයේ තොරතුරු සන්නිවේදනය පිළිබඳ උපදේශක හා ශ්‍රි ලංකා මැලේසියානු කොමසාරිස් ලෙස කටයුතු කර ඇති මෙතුමන් ශ්‍රි ලංකා මුද්‍රණ ආයතනයේ හා ජනමාධ්‍ය විද්‍යාලයේ මුද්‍රණය පිළිබඳ පැමිණිලි කොමිසමේ අධ්‍යක්ෂක ජෙනරාල්වරයා ලෙස ද කටයුතු කර ඇති මාධ්‍ය කේෂ්ත්‍රයේ ප්‍රාමාණික විද්වතෙකි.

එම හරවත් දේශණයෙන් පසු ප්‍රශ්න හා පිළිතුරු සැසියකින් වැඩසටහන ආලෝකමත් වු අතර ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනාවේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කොමිෂන් නොලත් නිලධාරින් වෙනුවෙන් ස්තුතිය පළකිරිම, බළලත් නිලධාරි 1 එම් එම් යු සී හේවානායක විසින් සිදුකරන ලදි. මේ අවස්ථාව සඳහා ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනා නියෝජ්‍ය සේනාවිධායක, මුලික මාණ්ඩලික නිලධාරි, පුහුණු පරික්ෂක, බ්‍රිගේඩියර් පාලන ඇතුලු ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරින් මෙන්ම වර්ථමානයේදි ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනාවෙහි රාජකාරි කරන ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කොමිෂන් නොලත් නිලධාරින් සහ නිලධාරිනියන් සහභාගි වු අතර, වැඩසටහනේ නිමාව සනිටුහන් කරමින් ස්වේචිඡා බළසේනා සැරයන් මේජර් විසින් ප්‍රධාන දේශක තුමන් වෙත සමරු තිලිණයක් ප්‍රදානය කරන ලදි.
