CORNERSTONES LAID FOR THE PROPOSED MAIN GUARD ROOM AND GUARD POINTS

In fulfilling the absolute necessity of enhancing the infrastructure facilities which accommodate the primary requisites in securing the contingency plan of the Headquarters, a fruitful step was headed under the concept of Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 06 July 2023 at the Camp Premises, Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.

Cutting the maiden trod of soil for the proposed Main Guard Room took place by the Commandant amidst religious rituals and observances and the foundation stone-laying got underway behind, at the auspicious time.Concurrently, cutting the first trod of soil and laying the corner-stone for the proposed ‘B’ Guard Room were held.

The endeavor was successfully initiated with the close supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Volunteer Force and cooperative cordiality of the Commanding Officers and their troops realizing the purview of the Commandant. The respective other Guard Points would be set up in the Headquarters under possible afford of the respective volunteer battalions as scheduled.

The occasion was attended by Principal Staff Officer, Inspector of Training,Brigadier Administration, Commanding Officers of the Volunteer Battalions, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.
