NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS GREET THE YEAR ARRIVING

The celebrations of new year of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Headquarters took place under the patronage of Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant, SLAVF at the camp premises on 17 April 2023.

The new year message issued by the Commandant was delivered extending best wishes for the dawn of new year 2023, and in his message a special tribute of gratitude was paid on commitment, loyalty and integrity made by the members of Volunteer Force.

During the occasion, the new year message that brings the warmest new year greetings to all in the Army issued by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army was spelled out. In his wishes, he has commended the exemplary conduct of Army members and dedication at the forefront for the benefit of the people by safeguarding the interests of the motherland and its people in spite of all challenges.

The gathering was accorded a tea ritual with a customary treat of sweetmeats and traditional formalities arranged. The civil employees of the Headquarters were accorded a special token of goodwill by the Commandant appraising the service rendered to the establishment.

The Commandant had a cordial interaction with all the staff presented the occasion. Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks exchanged best compliments with festive gestures for the new year heralded.
