ADMINISTRATIVE INSPECTION AT SFHQ (JAFFNA)

The administrative inspection of Volunteer Battalions deployed in the country are carried out by the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force as a part of annual schedule in order to ensure a sound administrative mechanism in the respective battalions and streamline the overall mechanism conforming to the Sri Lanka Army.

A team of officers presided by the Deputy Commandant, Major General Thusitha Silva KSP and Other Ranks of the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force conducted the Annual Administrative Inspection of the Volunteer Battalions deployed under the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) on 16th and 17th of February 2023 on the directions of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General WASS Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu.

On his arrival at the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), the Deputy Commandant was warmly received by Brigadier Coordinating Officer, Brigadier B M R J Banadara and extended a warm welcome to the camp premises.

Prior to the formal proceedings of the administrative inspection, the Deputy Commandant had a cordial interaction with Major General DBSN Bothota RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Commander of Security Forces Jaffna, and the routine inspection was taken place focusing on the functional aspects and other related matters of battalions under the area of responsibility of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna). The Deputy Commandant addressed the troops of volunteer battalions where the administrative undertakings are occurred, at the Cinema Theatre, Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and the respective Commanding Officers, Senior Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion on 16 February 2023.

The preliminary administrative inspection was held in 9 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 2 and 16 (Volunteer) Battalions of Gemunu Watch, 5 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, 15 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard. Meanwhile, 9 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 2 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gemunu Watch and 16 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gemunu Watch were visited by the Deputy Commandant.

As the second segment of the day's itinerary, the administration inspection was carried out in 16 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 15 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gajaba Regiment, 10 and 12 (Volunteer) Battalions of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, and the Deputy Commandant visited the 15 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gajaba Regiment and 16 (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry respectively.

The Deputy Commandant received a briefing on the administrative inspection with the participation of the respective authorities at the 2 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gemunu Watch and 15 (Volunteer) Battalion of Gajaba Regiment. During the briefing, imperatives observed and to be upgraded were broadly discussed meeting with possible assistance and decision stipulations.

Brigadier W G P Sisira Kumara RSP - the Inspector of Training, Brigadier M D B M S Jayamanne - Brigadier Administration, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks nominated of the Volunteer Force, participated in the occasion.
