TROOPS OF SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE ENHANCE KNOWLEDGE ON THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES

Soldiers are the key component of the any Army in the world, therefore, educate and impart the knowledge on their responsibilities towards the organization and the nation is utmost important. With a view of grooming the responsible soldiers, the lecture on ‘Soldier’s Responsibilities’ conducted at Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force under the guideline of the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu on 25 January.

The lecture was delivered impressively by Staff Officer 1, Headquarters, Engineering Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel M D J Wickramaarchchi USP psc. During his lecture, he spelled out that the Army shoulders the responsibilities of protecting the nation from domestic terrorists and foreign enemies who threatened the national integrity and sovereignty. Further, he elaborated the seven admirable core values: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honour, integrity and personal courage which should be inculcated in the hearts of the soldiers. Moreover, he pointed out that the soldiering depicts extraordinary personality that heads beyond conventions of professions.

The training day lecture was organized under the supervision of the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF, Major General Thusitha Silva KSP. Inspector of Training, senior officers, officers and a large gathering of other ranks attended the lecture.
