PREVENTION OF DENGUE BEFORE BREEDING

In the wake of spreading of Dengue, a mosquito-borne viral disease in most areas of the country, an awareness programme was conducted under the directions of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 02 November 2022 at the Multifunctional Hall of the Headquarters, SLAVF.

As a remedial course of action, a comprehensive awareness of preventive directives for Dengue, its born, and transmission was brought by way of a lecture by Mr. Jinatissa Galhenage, the Supervising Public Health Inspector of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office, Hanwella.

The discussion primarily focused on prevention from the rapid spreading of this outbreak and health directives that need to strictly adhere to where every being is gifted with physically and mentally strong health.

A field visit was conducted in view of reinforcing the theoretical knowledge imparted during the session and attendees joined the observation visit on the camp premises. The occasion was resourced by the state officials of the MOH Office, Hanwella and especially, the entire camp premises was inspected.
