BRIGADIER WGP SISIRA KUMARA RSP TAKES OVER DUTIES AS THE INSPECTOR OF TRAINING OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Brigadier WGP Sisira Kumara RSP of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry assumed the office as Inspector of Training of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer with effect from 21 September 2022.

During a simple ceremony, the Senior Officer placed his signature symbolically for a formal document to signify the acceptance of his new office in the presence of a group of officers at his new office. Religious rites and observances invoked blessings on the new appointment before the official assumption of duties.

The Senior Officer, prior to the new appointment served as the Brigadier Coordinating Officer at the Security Force Headquarters(West).

The Senior Officer has counted above 34 years of military service and he is a battle harden officer who performed to the best interest of the establishment during counterinsurgency operations. He is an experienced military officer due to his assignments of duties under key appointments of command and staff.

He has been conferred with Rana Sura Padakkama for his individual acts of bravery and distinguished conduct in the face of the enemy during active deployment.

All branch heads and Officers attended the occasion to congratulate him on his new appointment.
