LECTURE ON MEDIA AND ARMY HELD AT HQ SLAVF

In parallel to the seminars and lectures conducted on a concept of Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, a pertinent lecture on Media and Army was delivered by Brigadier K V N P Premarathna RSP USP psc, Director Media for all ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at t h e Multifunctional Hall H Q SLAVF today (06 th July). In addition, a large military gathering serving at several military establishments listened to the lecture via zoom technology.

The lecture was conducted with the aim of imparting knowledge of introducing media, soldiers’ responsibilities towards the society, public perception management, media and military relationship, social media etiquettes and adverse effects of using social media and the manner of dealing with the public in sociably and responsibly by setting up the mindset of the members through a positive approach for the organizational development.

Moreover, during his lecture, he highlighted the importance of not being a victim of disinformation and misinformation and the manner of handling media and public to upraise the image of the Sri Lanka Army, especially, in this present decisive and economic crisis context.
