THE INAUGURATION PROGRAMME ON SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION WORKSHOP

In view of realizing the organizational objectives whilst contributing to nation-building and integrating with the green concept, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force stretched out its wings on a situational concerning, the concept of innovation through recycling which draws innumerable benefits for its self erection. Accordingly, Skills Development and Innovation Workshop has been structured under the conceptual and factual directions of Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the inauguration programme was held on 05 July 2022 at the Headquarters.

The programme serves as the launchpad for innovations through skills and knowledge development of the army personnel. The course of study consists of 560 periods with practical sessions and would cover streams of Innovation through Team Work, Waste Management, Welding, Painting, and Carpentry which have been identified as potential skills attribute to achieving the desired outcomes.

A selected group undergoes the course during the stipulated period of the course and those who have acquired the expected development in skills based on the theoretical enlightenment would be awarded a recognized certificate at the termination of the study programme.

The opening remarks were made by Brigadier MTKR Silva KSP, the Inspector of Training of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, and put forward the purpose of the Commandant of the Volunteer Force in conducting the workshop under a timely valued concept.
