COLONEL H S RATNAYAKE PASSES AWAY

Colonel H S Ratnayake of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) who was on leave prior to retirement passed away on Wednesday (1 June) following a brief illness at the age of 56 years. He had served as Colonel Coordinating Officer (Volunteer Matters) at Headquarters 11 Infantry Division before his leave prior to retirement.

His remains are now lying at his residence, No 8/89, Parana Ganthota Road, Kandy. Funeral arrangements with full military honours will take place at 1230 hrs on Saturday (4) at Mahaiyawa General Cemetery, Kandy.

The Commandant and All Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force express their sincere condolence on the sudden demise of Colonel H S Ratnayake who had rendered a yeoman service during his service tenure.
